Festival Director, Cúirt International Literature Festival


The Cúirt International Literature Festival is looking for a visionary and highly motivated Festival Director.

The Festival Director leads the creative and executive artistic direction of Cúirt and is responsible for all aspects of the festival, delivering the April festival and artistic program throughout the year within approved budgets and timelines.

The Festival Director demonstrates a deep commitment to literature and exceptional programming and curatorial skills in the field of literature in all its forms of expression. The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking and leadership, an understanding of the importance of values-based work, and the ability to increase the reach and impact of the festival. The Cúirt Festival Director will be a creative and focused individual, who will work with a wide range of partners to deliver an ambitious and sustainable program that is a model of excellence regionally, nationally and internationally.

The Festival Director will be responsible for directing and delivering an annual week-long literary festival and a program of associated literary projects throughout the year. The Festival Director is responsible for conceiving, developing, budgeting and implementing the artistic and programmatic direction of the festival in consultation with the Festival Director and the Galway Arts Center Director/Curator and subject to the approval of the board of directors.
