A Pat Kennedy play can take anywhere from 9 months to a year and a half to complete.

Pat works in his studio in Loveland where he needed to make modifications to his door to get sculptures in and out. He begins his process by envisioning his work, sketching it, then creating a mini-sculpture before beginning his work on the life-size one which averages about 6 feet tall. He first creates a polystyrene base by carefully formulating the size from his drawings. Then he coats that styrofoam with clay, shaping every curve to perfection. It then undergoes a process to transform it into the bronze creation it becomes.

Currently, Mr. Kennedy’s 6ft piece titled “Tango” lives outside the majestic wedding venue called The Pavilion at The Stanley. This stylized contemporary piece of two dancing lovers evokes a sense of joy and emotion. When you look at the sculpture you will notice all the angles and curves that bring the piece to life. It’s the perfect piece to complete any love and wedding vows that will be kept.

You can find this sculpture when you enter the grounds of the Stanley Hotel. The cameraman appears to be filming a scene at Rocky Mountain National Park beyond a field where elk usually roam. This iconic statue marks the future of the Stanley Film Center, which will host film screenings, festivals, productions, education and more.
