A new behind-the-scenes image from Dexter: New Blood shows Jack Alcott (Harrison) and director Marcos Siega with the victims of Kurt Caldwell.
A new behind-the-scenes look at Dexter: new blood shows the actresses who played Kurt Caldwell’s victims messing around on set. New blood recently completed its 10-episode arc, ending with Harrison killing Dexter. The limited series did pretty well with fans and critics until its last episode, which turned out to be quite confrontational. That being said, the show is considered by many to be better than the Dexter season 8 finale, which is part of why Clyde Phillips created Dexter: New blood.
While New blood Heavily focused on reconnecting Dexter with his son, the season also introduced a new opponent to the former Bloodsatter Analyst. Clancy Brown’s character Kurt Caldwell ended up being the villain of the series, a serial killer who has kidnapped and killed women for 25 years. Young girls were believed to have been lacking runaways for decades, but they never actually left Iron Lake. After Kurt killed them, he embalmed them and displayed them in trophy cases in his underground bunker. The revelation was quite shocking, especially for Angela, who had been searching for these victims for years.
A new image of Dexter: new blood writer Scott reynolds shows director Marcos Siega and Jack Alcott (Harrison) on set in Kurt’s trophy room. The image shows the victims getting out of their suitcases and talking between takes. The writer’s original post can be seen below:
Kurt may not have been able to outdo classic Dexter villains like Ice Truck Killer or Trinity Killer, but the scene where Dexter and Harrison discover his underground bunker was truly spooky. His embalming process had been teased throughout the season as he still killed women, but his trophies weren’t fully revealed until Episode 9, “The Family Business.” Episode 9 turned out to be one of the top rated episodes of Dexter: New blood, with Dexter finally telling Harrison the truth and involving him in his killing ritual when he murders Kurt.
It’s always fun to see some wacky behind-the-scenes footage, especially from shows as serious as Dexter. Reynolds recently revealed that Dexter: new blood obtains a release at home. The limited-edition DVD, Blu-Ray and Steelbook all come with 30 minutes of special features, which will give viewers a never-before-seen look at the show. It’s unclear exactly what the bonuses will include, but with the series officially over, it’s possible that the show’s cast and crew will start sharing more behind-the-scenes photos in the coming months.
