A new image of Spider-Man: No Path Home shows off his eponymous webslinger and MJ dealing with the aftermath of Spider-Man: Far From Home‘Sending in progress. After a good number of “are they going or not?” Tension, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Michelle Jones, aka MJ (Zendaya), have officially become part of Far from home– who also sees Peter telling MJ he’s Spider-Man. The couple will return in director Jon Watts’ third MCU film, No way home, ready to pick up where his predecessor left off, as Peter’s identity is revealed to the world.
After Peter’s high-flying date with MJ, Far from homeThe mid-credits scene featured a video recorded by the late Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) courtesy of J. Jonah Jameson (JK Simmons) and “TheDailyBugle.net”. The clip sees the villain exposing Spider-Man’s secret identity and implicating him as a murderer. The first trailer for No way home shows Peter, MJ, Ned (Jacob Batalon) and Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) dealing with the fallout from this revelation. A handful of first looks teased the start of No way home Spider-Man and MJ will follow as they escape from the crowds, the press, and / or the city police.
A lot of No way home details were revealed this week, thanks to Empire magazine cover. Presumably Peter and MJ will be heading out of town by No way homeThe inevitably chaotic opening sequence. Other pictures of No way homeThe Peter trailer appears to show Peter going to the police and being questioned. Theories persist that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) will appear in the film and serve as Peter’s lawyer, proving his innocence in Mysterio’s death. Either way, Peter goes to see Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to help him undo the global reveal of his secret identity, which prompts Strange to attempt a very dangerous spell aimed at making the whole world forget that Peter. Parker is Spider-Man. Thanks to Peter’s reluctance to let MJ, Ned, and Aunt May forget his secret, the spell goes awry and seemingly opens up the multiverse.
There are a lot of questions around No way home. Fans already know that Spider-man 2Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) and many other inherited villains will likely appear in the film. Many also expect Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men to appear. Aside from the film’s alleged multiversal leaks, the future of its main webslinger, as well as his friends and family, remains unanswered. Holland confirmed that No way home marks the end of Watts’ “Homecoming” trilogy and will irreparably change its characters. That being said, No way home features elements of Marvel Comics’ An extra day. In this story, Spider-Man makes a deal with Mephisto to rewrite the story and save Aunt May’s life, which causes the world to forget his secret identity. Unfortunately, this conclusion does not bode well for Peter and MJ’s relationship.
