CLEVELAND, Ohio – Forty-five arts organizations in Ohio have raised $ 1,065,000 in funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.
In total for the year, the NEA awarded 1,498 prizes totaling nearly $ 33.2 million to organizations in each state.
About half of Ohio’s beneficiaries are in the northeastern part of the state. Prizes in the region total $ 605,000. All are based in Cleveland, unless otherwise noted:

* Challenge America grants primarily go to small and medium-sized organizations for projects that extend the reach of the arts to populations with limited access due to geography, economy, or disability.
The National Endowment for the Arts was established by Congress in 1965.

• The NEA also provides separate grants through the American Rescue Plan. ARP is providing funding to the arts sector for reconstruction and recovery due to Covid. Funding for regional, state and local arts agencies was announced last year. The next round of ARP funding will be announced this month.
