The Late Late Toy Show seems to bring out the joyful child in us, whether we’re 20 or 90 years old.
Toy Show night is a tradition that many of us enjoyed as young children and that we still participate in today. And any fan knows that Toy Show live audience tickets are the hottest commodity. So it’s no surprise that fans of the beloved program were over the moon when they were surprised by this.
The Late Late Show’s TikTok account posted an adorable video of die-hard fans surprised by loved ones with tickets to be a part of the live audience.
In the clip, unsuspecting fans are asked what their plans are for Friday night before being told they’ll be heading to RTE Studios tonight. With some instantly ecstatic and others utterly disbelieving, the sheer childlike joy of the video reminds us exactly why we adore the Late Late Toy Show: It’s lucky for us to be a kid for a few hours before Christmas.
The Late Late Toy Show airs on RTE One tonight, Friday November 26 at 9:35 p.m.
Presenter Ryan Tubridy announced the theme earlier today, which had been kept strictly under wraps.
This year’s set will be inspired by the beloved Disney classic The Lion King. Tubridy said he would adapt the Hakuna Matata film philosophy (no worries) overnight.
During a tour of the set, he told the Irish Daily Mirror: “People are sad, people are exhausted, weary, and they are looking at us saying ‘give us some color in our lives, brighten our day. ‘and that’s a big request because I don’t want to let people down.
“So why the Lion King? It’s fun, goofy, silly and it’s a no-problem philosophy, and it’s good enough for me.”
